Dig Pit and Timelines. The dig pit encourages young archaeologists to make discoveries in the sand. The timelines show the history of the planet, and the mastodon's place (and our place) in the context of that history.
Hyde Park Mastodon Crawl Structure. The back of the exhibit features a safe crawl structure with two slides for different age groups. Once in the crawl structure children can see the mastodon up close and face to face. As they crawl toward the slide they can peek through plexi-glass windows to see the mastodon from different perspectives.
